Code execution via crafted file opening
Published Sep 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper access control in Microsoft Office Visio allows context-dependent attackers to execute code after required user interaction. Microsoft has not published the affected parser, function, or erroneous operation used when Visio processes the malicious input. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted file, and successful code execution can read or alter data and interrupt applications under that user's access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
