CVE-2024-37995Network attack vector

Application crash via faulty certificate upload

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Improper error handling in Siemens SIMATIC RFID readers before their fixed releases allows remote administrators to crash the application. The certificate-upload path fails to handle an error raised by a faulty certificate and terminates the affected application. Exploitation requires high privileges and a timing-dependent condition; Siemens' vectors bound the technical impact to reduced availability.
