Authenticated service interruption via oversized SNMP setting
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Improper error handling in Siemens SIMATIC RFID Readers allows remote authenticated users to restart the device application through SNMP. The SNMP-setting path mishandles the error raised when supplied text exceeds its character limit, causing an application restart instead of rejecting the value. High-privilege access is required; affected releases are before 4.2 for RF6xxR readers, before 1.1 for RF11xxR readers, and before 2.2 for RF1xxC modules and RF360R.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
