Privilege escalation in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP3 through 2022 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator privileges. Microsoft has not published the affected function or the incorrect privilege-management operation performed on attacker-controlled input. Network access and low-privileged SQL Server credentials are required; successful exploitation grants administrator control of the database server.
