Authenticated document overwrite via view-denied save
Published Jul 31, 2024 · Updated Jul 31, 2024
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform oldcore allows remote authenticated users to delete and replace restricted pages through the edit action. When view permission is denied, the edit flow treats the existing document as new and saves it without checking delete rights. Edit permission without view or delete permission is required; the prior revision moves to the recycle bin, and the replacement inherits its access rights.
