Information disclosure via missing TLS certificate validation
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Improper certificate validation in S3 Browser 10.9.9 and 11.4.5 allows remote attackers to read S3 request and response data. TLS connections for S3-compatible storage accounts do not validate the server certificate, allowing man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept file contents and listings. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position on the S3 connection; the reported impact excludes modification and service interruption.
