Unauthenticated privilege escalation via injectable category identifier
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
SQL injection in SourceCodester Lost and Found Information System 1.0 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges through the id parameter. The category-management handler interpolates the GET id value directly into a quoted SELECT condition and executes it without parameterization, enabling boolean- and time-based blind SQL injection. No authentication or user interaction is required under CISA's assessment, and successful exploitation grants elevated application privileges.
