Database disclosure via GraphQL orderBy SQL injection
Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in the GraphQL API in Pixel & Tonic Craft CMS before 3.7.31 allows remote attackers to read database data without authentication. The assets query passes its attacker-controlled orderBy argument into an SQL ORDER BY clause without neutralizing SQL syntax. Exploitation requires Craft Pro, an exposed GraphQL route, and a public schema that permits asset queries; error- or time-based responses disclose database data.
