CVE-2024-37769Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account privilege escalation via unchecked user-management POST

Published Jul 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper authorization in b1ackc4t 14Finger 1.1 allows remote authenticated users to elevate a normal account to Administrator. The user-management request handler accepts a crafted POST operation without strictly verifying whether the current account is authorized for the requested administrative action. A valid normal-user session is required, after which Administrator access grants the privileges assigned to that role.
