Authenticated service interruption via unbounded image resizing
Published Jun 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Resource exhaustion in Shanxi Internet Chuangxiang Technology CMS 1.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The /Upload/uploadpic.html interface accepts unbounded Width and Height values and expends server resources generating an oversized image. Backend access is required; sufficiently large dimensions delay responses and can exhaust resources until the service becomes unavailable.
