Authenticated script execution via activity name field
Published Jun 20, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Moodle LMS 3.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a new activity's name field. A crafted name parameter is rendered as page content without sufficient neutralization, causing browser interpretation as active content. The attacker needs a low-privilege account and a victim must view the affected content; the script then runs in that victim's Moodle context.
