Root access via hard-coded firmware password

Hard-coded credentials in TRENDnet TEW-814DAP firmware 1.01.B01 allow remote attackers to log in to the appliance as root. The firmware stores a fixed root password in /etc/shadow.sample rather than requiring a device-specific credential. An attacker must obtain the embedded password and reach the appliance's login interface; successful authentication grants root-level control.
