Router crash via unchecked ssid5g decoding
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in setWiFiEasyGuestCfg in TOTOLINK A3700R Firmware 9.1.2u.6165_20211012 allows remote attackers to crash the router. The handler URL-decodes the ssid5g field into stack storage without checking whether the decoded value exceeds the destination buffer. The crafted request reaches the CGI management endpoint from an adjacent network; the published proof of concept includes a session cookie, while CISA assesses that no privileges are required.
