Browser script execution via unencoded search quotes
Published Jun 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Reflected XSS in zhimengzhe iBarn 1.5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted search request. The index.php, pay.php, and own.php search fields call htmlspecialchars with ENT_NOQUOTES and place the result in a quoted value attribute, leaving attacker-supplied quotes able to create event handlers. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted URL and interact with the injected field, exposing browser-accessible data and actions in the iBarn origin.
