Unauthenticated dataset deletion via unguarded DELETE handler
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Missing authorization in Lunary before 1.2.8 allows remote attackers to delete datasets through the backend DELETE endpoint. The handler in packages/backend/src/api/v1/datasets/index.ts accepts an untrusted dataset ID and executes a DELETE query without access checking or project scoping. No token or account is required; a successful request removes the selected dataset and can cause data loss or service disruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
