CarPlay service crash via malformed HTTP requests
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in Mercedes-Benz NTG 6 through 2021 allows physically proximate attackers to crash the CarPlay service. The AirTunes/AirPlay service dereferences a null pointer while processing prepared HTTP requests received over the head unit's internal Ethernet network. Physical access to base-board Ethernet pins and a static IP address are required; the documented consequence is service failure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
