CVE-2024-3760Network attack vector

Email and mail-service disruption via unthrottled resets

Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024

Resource exhaustion in Lunary before 1.2.8 allows remote attackers to flood users and mail servers through password-reset requests. The unauthenticated request-password-reset handler sends an email for every submitted account address without throttling or checking for an unexpired recovery token. Knowledge of a registered address is sufficient to fill its mailbox and degrade or interrupt the connected mail service.
