Notice dismissal via improper nonce validation
Published Jan 2, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Posterity 3.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to dismiss WordPress notices through forged requests. The posterity_disable_ajax_notice() function fails to perform correct nonce validation before processing a notice-dismissal request. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to click a malicious link or visit a crafted page, and the documented consequence is notice dismissal.
