CVE-2024-3740Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unchecked nginxExe

Published Apr 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

OS command injection in cym1102 nginxWebUI 3.9.0 through 3.9.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via nginxExe. The reload handler builds a command from the nginxExe value and passes it to RuntimeUtil.execForStr without restricting it to an nginx executable. Administrative-session access to /adminPage/conf/reload is required, and resulting commands run with the nginxWebUI process privileges, commonly root under upstream deployment guidance.
