Authenticated script execution via unsanitized survey fields
Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Stored XSS in REDCap 13.1.9 Public Survey allows remote authenticated users to execute script in public-link visitors' browsers. The Survey Title and Survey Instructions fields store crafted HTML or JavaScript without neutralizing it before the public survey view renders the content. An authenticated account must plant the payload, and a visitor must access or interact with the public survey; the script can read browser-accessible data or act in the visitor's REDCap context.
