Browser script execution via unsanitized dashboard fields
Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Stored XSS in Vanderbilt REDCap before 14.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through Project Dashboards. The Dashboard Title and Dashboard Content fields store crafted HTML or JavaScript and render it as active content instead of neutralizing it. A project user must save the payload and another user must view or interact with the dashboard, exposing browser data and actions in that viewer's session.
