CVE-2024-37383Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Session script execution via whitespace-bypassed SVG sanitization

Published Jun 7, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Stored XSS in Roundcube Webmail before 1.5.7 and 1.6.0 through 1.6.6 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via crafted email. The rcube_washtml attribute_value sanitizer compares SVG animate attribute names without trimming whitespace, so attributeName="href " evades blocking and retains a JavaScript URL. Execution requires a recipient to view the malicious message and activate its crafted link, allowing code to act within the authenticated webmail session.
