HTTPS interception via incomplete certificate-chain validation
Published Aug 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Improper certificate validation in Collabora Online's coolwsd allows remote attackers to intercept its outbound HTTPS traffic. StorageBase::initialize in wsd/Storage.cpp configures outbound HTTPS handling without validating the remote certificate through the full chain to a trusted root. An attacker positioned between coolwsd and another HTTPS host can impersonate that host, read transferred content, and alter responses.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
