Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped recipe titles
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Gora Tech Cooked 1.7.15.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through recipe titles. Fotorama's caption builder interpolates the stored title into an HTML string; the patch instead assigns it to a div's textContent before reading outerHTML. Contributor-level recipe publishing and a populated gallery video URL are required, and the script executes when a user opens the recipe page.
