CVE-2024-37305Network attack vector

Crash and information disclosure via unchecked lengths

Published Jun 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Buffer overflow in Open Quantum Safe oqs-provider 0.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash services or disclose information. oqsx_key_op and oqs_sig_verify decode attacker-controlled classical-key and signature lengths with DECODE_UINT32, then use them for unchecked memory reads and writes. Only serialized hybrid key and signature processing is affected; plain post-quantum key operations are unaffected, and malformed inputs can interrupt a consuming OpenSSL service or expose process memory.
