CVE-2024-37289

SYSTEM code execution via Suspect folder access

Published Jun 10, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025

Improper access control in Trend Micro Apex One 2019 and Apex One as a Service allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. Security Agent logic controlling access to the Suspect folder fails to enforce the required privilege boundary for low-privileged processes. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on a Windows endpoint and grants complete SYSTEM-context execution.
