Authenticated service crash via crafted request flood
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Elastic Kibana 7.x before 7.17.23 and 8.x before 8.14.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash it. Elastic has not identified the affected endpoint or disclosed how its request handling consumes resources until the process fails. A Viewer role and a large volume of maliciously crafted network requests are required, and the reported consequence is a Kibana process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
