Stored XSS via unvalidated Post Grid heading
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the Post Grid block in Otter Blocks 2.6.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via titleTag. The server-side renderer in inc/render/class-posts-grid-block.php uses the user-controlled titleTag value as an HTML heading name without validating it as an allowed tag or escaping it before output. Contributor-level access is required to save a crafted block, and the script executes in the browser of anyone who opens the affected page.
