Credential disclosure via reversible Base64 encoding
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Weak credential encoding in all versions of Advantech ADAM-5550 allows physically proximate attackers to read user credentials. The device shares credentials with users by applying reversible Base64 encoding instead of cryptographic protection. Exploitation requires an adjacent position and active interaction by a legitimate user; the reported effect is credential disclosure only.
