Authenticated command execution via unfiltered LED parameter
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
OS command injection in Wavlink AC3000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router firmware M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The adm.cgi set_ledonoff() handler reads the led_cmd POST parameter and passes it unchanged to do_system(), without validation or escaping. Administrator authentication and network access to the router's HTTP interface are required, and successful exploitation executes commands in the appliance context.
