Authenticated code execution via unbounded SSID copy
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in adm.cgi on Wavlink AC3000 M33A8.V5030.210505 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. rep_as_bridge() passes the wl_rep_ssid2g POST value to sprintf() as an unbounded string in a 0xa0-byte stack buffer, overwriting the return address. A valid session cookie and page=wzdrepeater with rep_type=1 are required; successful exploitation takes control of adm.cgi execution.
