Remote code execution via unprompted custom URI

Protection mechanism failure in Mattermost Desktop App 5.7.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to run programs through custom URI schemes. PermissionsManager omits openExternal from the permission types that require a dialog, so redirects can invoke an external scheme without approval. Exploitation requires victim interaction with attacker-controlled content, and the launched program runs with the victim's account permissions.
