Cross-site scripting via incomplete template-context escaping
Published Jun 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
XSS in gurgunday ghtml before 2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through unsafe template expressions. The html tag escapes basic HTML metacharacters but does not contextually encode unquoted attribute values or restrict attacker-controlled href schemes; before 2.0.0 it also leaves backticks unescaped. Exploitation requires an application to place attacker-controlled data in one of these contexts and a user to render the resulting markup, exposing browser-context data and content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
