CVE-2024-37071Network attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via excessive query allocation

Published Dec 7, 2024 · Updated Dec 9, 2024

Improper memory allocation in IBM Db2 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt database service. A specially crafted query supplies an excessive size value to an undisclosed allocation path, which Db2 uses for an improper memory allocation. Database authentication and high-complexity conditions are required; IBM reports availability loss only and has not disclosed whether the service hangs or crashes.
