Authentication bypass via malformed POST memory corruption
Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Schneider Electric SAGE RTU firmware through C3414-500-S02K5_P8 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication. Malformed POST processing writes beyond a memory boundary; Schneider Electric has not disclosed the affected handler or corrupted object. The request is unauthenticated, but exploitation requires particular configuration parameters, and successful bypass exposes protected device functions.
