CVE-2024-37017Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Reader crash via malformed timed-text MXF metadata

Published May 30, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Heap-based buffer over-read in AS-DCP Lib 2.13.1 allows context-dependent attackers to crash readers with a crafted timed-text MXF file. MD_to_TimedText_TDesc reads 16 bytes beyond a heap allocation while converting parsed MXF metadata into a timed-text descriptor. Processing an attacker-supplied file is required; the public reproduction demonstrates an AddressSanitizer abort rather than code execution.
