Code execution via 3DM buffer overwrite
Published Jun 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in opennurbs.dll in Autodesk AutoCAD products allows attackers to execute code through a crafted 3DM file. The 3DM parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a local user to open the file or visit a malicious page; resulting process-context code execution can also corrupt data or crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
