Stored XSS via unsanitized conf-web settings

Stored XSS in Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. The conf-web/settings REST endpoint accepts attacker-controlled settings from an administrator and persists them without neutralizing script content before Splunk Web renders it. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the payload, Splunk Web to be enabled, and another Splunk user to view affected content; resulting code can read or alter data available in that browser context.
