Username enumeration via divergent SAML login errors

Observable response discrepancy in affected Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform releases allows remote attackers to enumerate SAML users. The SAML login flow returns distinguishable error responses for existing and nonexistent users, exposing account validity without authentication. Exposure requires Splunk Web with SAML authentication and enables targeted password guessing; it does not directly disclose passwords or data.
