System freeze via unmasked FireWire reset interrupts

Denial of service in the Linux FireWire OHCI driver allows local users to freeze the system by triggering a bus reset. With debug bit 8 enabled, irq_handler leaves the reset event set and its interrupt unmasked, causing the handler to run repeatedly. Exploitation requires privileged module configuration and a FireWire OHCI controller; the reported consequence is a system hang.
