Stored XSS via unvalidated block HTML tag
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Jegstudio Gutenverse before 1.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted block attribute. Multiple blocks output the attacker-controlled htmlTag attribute as an HTML element name without validating it, permitting event-handler markup. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes in the browser of a user who previews or views the affected post.
