Path traversal in Menlo Research Jan 0.4.12 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the local API server. The /v1/app/readFileSync handler passes an unfiltered file URI containing parent-directory segments to a synchronous file read. The endpoint requires no authentication, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Jan process.
