Unauthenticated post excerpt disclosure via meta descriptions
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Blog2Social 7.4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read excerpts from password-protected posts. The plugin's metadata generator places a protected post's excerpt in its public meta description without checking the post password. No account or user interaction is required, and the consequence is limited disclosure of text included in that description.
