Session theft via incomplete error-message escaping
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in MintHCM 4.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary JavaScript through a crafted link. ESListViewController returns attacker-controlled function_name text in its missing-function error, where incomplete HTML escaping permits crafted tags and an onbeforeinput handler to render. A targeted user must open the link and press a key, after which the script can steal a readable session cookie or redirect the browser.
