Authenticated daemon crash via nil image timestamp
Published Nov 29, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Moby 25.0.0 through 26.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to crash the daemon through image history. ImageHistory calls Unix() on an image-history Created timestamp without first checking whether that pointer is nil. Low-privileged daemon API access is required; the resulting nil dereference terminates the daemon without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
