CVE-2024-3653Network attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded learning-push cache

Published Jul 8, 2024 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Memory exhaustion in Undertow 2.3.14.Final and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt HTTP service through normal requests. LearningPushHandler retains learned push entries without an effective lifetime when maxAge remains at its -1 default; the fix replaces its unbounded storage with an LRU cache. Exposure requires the disabled-by-default learning-push handler to be enabled without overriding maxAge, and sustained requests can exhaust server memory.
