Authenticated code execution via GUI path traversal
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Path traversal in Fortinet FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files through the GUI. The administrative interface accepts crafted HTTP or HTTPS requests containing relative paths and writes the referenced file outside its intended directory. A super-admin profile and CLI access are required; successful file placement permits unauthorized code or command execution on the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.2.10 <=6.2.13
- Affected versionversion=7.0.2 <=7.0.12
- Affected versionversion=7.2.0 <=7.2.5
