File integrity bypass via ineffective write protection

Improper access control in affected Fortinet FortiOS releases allows attackers to bypass real-time file integrity checks via local write access. The real-time integrity layer fails to enforce write protection on protected system files, allowing unauthorized changes to evade its checks. Exploitation requires write access to the underlying system obtained through another flaw, and successful abuse permits protected files to be altered without detection.
