CVE-2024-36504Network attack vector

Authenticated portal denial of service via crafted URL

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in the Fortinet FortiOS SSL-VPN web portal allows remote authenticated users to interrupt portal service via a crafted URL. The portal's URL-processing path reads beyond a buffer boundary when handling the crafted URL; Fortinet has not disclosed the affected parser or parameter. Valid SSL-VPN portal credentials are required, and the documented consequence is interruption of that portal rather than code execution or data access.
