SYSTEM code execution via log-folder link following
Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024
Improper access control in Intel Driver & Support Assistant before 24.3.26.8 allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM. The service follows a symbolic link in its log-folder path and creates an attacker-chosen directory with weak permissions. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution and, under Intel's assessment, active user interaction, after which code runs as SYSTEM.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
